Family Photo Evening 2010
A Family Photo Night fundraiser is planned for Carnarvon Community School for the following four days:
- Tuesday October 12th, 5:00 pm until 8:50 pm
- Wednesday October 13th, 5:00 pm until 8:50 pm
- Thursday October 14th, 5:00 pm until 8:50 pm
- Friday October 15th, 5:00 pm until 8:50 pm
We are fortunate to have EXCALIBUR PHOTOGRAPY come to our school to professionally photograph our families. For just $20 your family will have a private photo session and receive a complementary color 8x10 from the proof of your choice. 100% of this session fee goes directly to our school.
Different poses will be taken of each family and proofs of each pose will be sent back to the school. Families may choose to order extra prints, but no further purchase is necessary to receive the complementary colour 8x10. Our photographer specializes in portrait photography and his work is of the highest quality. A sample of his work will be displayed on the nights of the fundraiser.
Unfortunately, we are limited to the dates above, therefore limiting the number of sittings. The sessions will be on a "first come, first served" basis and only one sitting per family.
The "Request for Sitting" form is available
ON-LINE.

Postcard Campaign in Support of Public Education
Shaughnessy Elementary parents in Vancouver discussed our school board's projected $18M deficit and its proposed calendar change to save costs. The definitive issue that emerged was the need for government to adequately support our public schools. In short order, motivated parent volunteers launched a values-based non-partisan postcard campaign articulating this issue.
Shaughnessy Parent Advisory Council is inviting everybody to use their postcard or letter to launch your own campaign and spread the word!

The new version of our website is up and running
We are happy to introduce our new re-designed website. We hope this website will become a reliable source of information and documentation for all parents/guardians at Carnarvon Community School. We also expect to reduce the amount of paper and paperwork moving from PAC to parents/guardians by delivering all communication and newsletters online in the near future.
Please feel free to submit your comments and opinions to the PAC executive. Visit our "contact" section for your convenience. If you find any technical problem through these pages, please feel free to submit your comments to the webmaster.
Welcome Back Coffee
Just after drop off time on the first day of school, we'll hold our traditional Welcome Back Coffee, from 8:45 to 9:45 AM on the black top, near the front entrance. Everyone's welcome. Come say hello to new families and old friends. Please bring your own coffee mug and if you're able, please bring a small plate of "morning goodies" (muffins, scones, sandwiches, cookies or coffee cakes - we are not picky) and let Gili know.
First Day of School
Please remember that our first day of school is on Tuesday September 8 and is one hour only (9-10 AM) for grades 1 to 7. K students should have received specific directions from the school.
